CIVIL partnership throughout the world – and even marriage – should be for everyone, despite their gender, colour or sexual preference.
However, a straight British couple who rejected marriage but wanted to seal their love with civil partnership were told they can’t do this because they are not gay.
Usually it is the same sex couples fighting for marriage freedom but this time it is straight couples that in this case they will fight for equality in court.
Tom Freeman and Katherine Doyle, both 25, were shocked of the decision when told they can’t do this.
“We want to secure official status for our relationship in a way that supports the call for complete equality and is free of the negative connotations of marriage,” Mr Freeman said.
“If we cannot have a civil partnership, we will not get married.”
There are just few differences between marriage and civil partnership – one being civil partnership cannot be in a church.
However, surely, equality will win out in this case.
Both of these people aren’t doing anything wrong or against the law; why should they be restricted?
