But then even if you do, the pressure’s on to keep her happy.

It was amazing that this Valentine’s Day, men continued to flock to florists for those traditional roses.

It’s the day that shows your love and affection to the person you love the most.

One couple that I know of were maybe a familiar couple to you.

The woman said to the man prior to Valentine’s Day that she doesn’t want anything this Valentine’s Day so the man didn’t buy her anything.

But the woman was on about it to him all day because she didn’t get anything; not even a single rose.

This is exactly why I got my beautiful partner something – even though she said she didn’t want anything either.

It’s like an intuition that you have to have when you’re with woman.

For the record, I got my fiance some earrings from Diva and a large bunch of roses mixed in with some white lillies to give it that classic look.

Every girl likes flowers – even though I think they are a waste of money.

They are highly effective on days such as Valentine’s Day.

And girls love it. Even though a lot of men think it’s complete commercialism.

Then of course, there’s the movie Valentines Day.

I saw this on the Friday prior to Valentines Day.

What an amazing movie it is full of young talented stars. Probably one of the best movies I’ve seen in the past year and I’m a guy.

Well it’s got Jessica Alba in it, what can I say?

While the guys love it, some female groups have begun to feel the pinch of becoming like Jennifer.

But a foundation that helps prevent eating disorders has defended it with foundation general manager Julie Parker saying on radio 3AW:

“It’s so excessive in magazines these days and young girls and women are constantly telling us that they don’t even know what they’re looking at any more, and what they want to see is more real, untouched and natural photos of celebrities and people in magazines, and I think this delivers that,” Parker said.

But it appears the pressure of girls, who look at these magazines, comes to a toll.

Many want to look like Jennifer and act with plastic surgery.

Others simply become depressed at the prospect of not being able to to do that and can lead to such things as suicide.

Still, it’s just one of many front covers of flawless models that people want to be. They will be there until people stop buying the product. It’s unlikely to end.

The latest being Britney Spears.

Reports she will lip-sync many of her concerts has prompted debate whether people should know beforehand that they will be seeing their favourite singers lip-sync before paying top dollar.

Of course they deserve to know.

Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge told the Daily Telegraph that Sydneysiders would not put up with a “Mickey Mouse performance.”

“Let’s be clear – live means live,” she said.

“If you are spending up to $200, I think you deserve better than a film clip.”

“The NSW Government would be happy to look at options, such as a disclaimer on a ticket which would warn consumers a performance is pre-recorded.”

Of course Spears isn’t the first one to lip-sync; it has happened many of times.

But as prices increase every time a popular US pop star tours Australia, surely the squillions of fans that follow Spears deserve to know what sort of show they will be getting.

But then begs the question; why do these stars lip-sync in the first place? Are they scared of getting it wrong? Or is it the easy way out?

Then how do they still demand the respect if they are going to lip-sync instead of braving the unpredictability of actually showcasing their voice.

Melbourne radio station FoxFM have been doing a competition where listeners put their name down on the ‘Brit List’ on their website and if they hear their name on the radio, they call up and win tickets.

I think after hearing the lip-sync story, listeners won’t be in such a desperate mood to win.
